Hope From The Psalmist

Throughout the book of Psalms we find sorrowful situations, and painful moments, yet through it all there is an undeniable determination to remain faithful to the Creator, to trust in the Rock of our salvation, and to rest in the Shield of our lives. The Psalmists remain hopeful even through trying times, and moments where the enemy seems to be winning the battle. However, we know, as they did that God has the final word, and His timing is always better than ours even though there are times where we see no other options. The Psalmists give us hope as they allow us to feel what they felt, and know what they knew. What they knew might not have been a lot, but they knew that God was where they needed to place their trust everyday, and that was enough.

He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me. Psalm 18:17

It is God that girds me with strength, and makes my way perfect. Psalm 18:32

The Lord lives; and blessed be my Rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted. Psalm 18:46

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. Psalm 19:19

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright. Psalm 20:7-8

Thou hast given him his hearts desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah. Psalm 21:2

The book of Psalms takes up a total of 150 chapters in the Old Testament, and although many of them are short like poems, we can find them to be an incredible source of strength, encouragement, and hope in times of need.
