God’s Timing Was Just Right
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. (Romans 5:6)
You see; implies that either we didn’t understand, or we heard about it, but still didn’t get it. Paul wanted to stress a very important concept so that more people might understand.
At just the right time; implies that no other time would do. “Can we do this now God?” “No, no…not yet.” “How about now? This is a good time God.” “Not yet. Be patient.” “We really should do this now God before it’s too late!” “Not now, just trust Me.” On the authority of God’s word, He does it all at just the right time. That is awesome! He sent Jesus at just the right time. He delivers His people at just the right time. He knows what to do every time at just the right time. I suspect that something in your life happened at just the right time?
When we were still powerless; implies that there is something that we could not do under our own power. We were powerless to do anything to save ourselves, yet God did something at just the right time to solve our crisis.
Christ died for the ungodly; implies that, Jesus Christ, willingly chose to die for those who were unrighteous, not like God, in fact, enemies of God. How much love is shown when one man will willingly give up his life for another? How much more love is shown when Almighty God left His rightful place in heaven, took on the form of a man, suffered, and died so that our crisis could be resolved once and for all? How much more?? First there was love, then there was mercy, and finally there was grace.
Life isn’t like a game of chess where we make a move and then God makes a move. He had it all planned out before the creation was even begun! He gave us the confidence to know how it will end, and He gives us the Power to get there one day at a time. The timing may not always seem right to us, but God’s timing is always perfect. We also have confidence through Romans 8:28, which is not to be thrown around lightly, but is certainly related to God’s perfect timing.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)
=====> Thank You, Lord, for your unconditional love, your endless mercy, and your unfathomable grace. Thank you also that Your timing is always perfect no matter where we are. May we always bring You glory in all that we do. Amen.
