Faith Like A Mustard Seed

Many have spent their lives to try and stop the Church.

What is the Church?

I’m not talking about some building. I’m talking about the body of Christ, believers that are filled with the Holy Spirit.

I know that we use the word church for the places where God is worshiped, but the actual Church is the body of Jesus Christ. He is the head, and the body is made up of those who believe that Jesus is really who He said He was, that He completed the mission He came to complete, and they faithfully follow Him with love, service, and obedience.

…so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. Romans 12:5

So, the Church is Jesus Christ (head), and those who believe in Him (body). One Church, with many parts. One Church, with many different people. Each person is given a spiritual gift of some kind, and the Giver is the Holy Spirit.

Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 1 Corinthians 12:27

God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. Hebrews 2:4

It is important to realize that without the Holy Spirit, we are getting nowhere. That’s why, when the first Church began, the apostles were told to wait until they received the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has the power. The Holy Spirit does the work. The people are the vessels in which the Holy Spirit accomplishes the work.

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own… 1 Corinthians 6:19

The Church is working because the Holy Spirit is working. When the Holy Spirit is working throughout the Church, we see these results: The Good News is spread with power (Acts 1:8), truth is made known (1 John 2:20), competence (2 Corinthians 3:5), intercession (Romans 8:27), patient trust in the Lord (Romans 8:23), strenth, encouragement, prosperity (Acts 9:31), guidance (John 14:26), spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12:7-11), and abundant life (John 7:38).

This is merely an introduction for the Unstoppable Church. Throughout the next week, I will delve deeper into the Unstoppable Church with; faith, obedience, the Holy Spirt, and opposition.
