Be Steadfast in Faith, Trusting in the Lord Only

What does the Lord ask of you?

To love the Lord our God.
To keep His commandments everyday.
To serve Him with heart and soul.
Not to turn away and worship other gods.
To keep and teach His word.
To walk in all His ways.

These are the things which the Lord requires of all His people.

Therefore thou shalt love the Lord thy God, and keep His charge, and His statutes, and His judgements, and His commandments, alway. Deuteronomy 11:1

What will happen when we obey the word of the Lord, and do the things He has spoken?

Our days will be many.
Rain will come to the land, and crops will grow.
Animals will strive.
We will eat and be full.
Our enemies will run away. They will be unable to stand.
We will be able to stand against those who are stronger.

All we have to do is obey the word of the Lord, and all such things will be ours.

There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the Lord your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as He hath said unto you. Deuteronomy 11:25

However, when we are disobedient to the Lord, quite the opposite will happen.

The Lord’s wrath will be kindled.
The heavens will be shut up.
People will perish quickly.

Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; and then the Lord’s wrath be kindled against you, and He shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yeild not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the Lord giveth you. Deuteronomy 11:16-17

In other words, there will be consequences for disobedience to God’s word. People want to know why there is so much suffering in the world. God is telling you why! Stop turning from Him, and seeking your own gods. Turn back to the Creator of the Universe in repentance. Seek Him with all of your heart.

God is giving us a choice in this matter. God wants to know who loves Him, and who does not.

Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day: And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known. Deuteronomy 11:26-28

What will YOU choose? Blessing….or curse?

There is only two choices in this matter. Obedience, and disobedience. Good consequences, and bad consequences. If you aren’t sure which category you fall under, seek the Lord each day, in His word, and in prayer.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

What will you choose?

As for me, I will trust in the Lord.

Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods. Psalm 40:4
