Got Truth?
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6, ESV)
When we watch TV, read magazines, or look at the billboards around town, we are pressured into doing things that we don’t really need to do, like driving the coolest cars, drinking a certain drink, wearing the latest styles, and trying to be more attractive.
Ignoring the messages is hard, and almost impossible. That’s why the world is full of people trying to keep up with the latest trends. But they’re not running after anything that’s true or lasting. For the most part, we fall for things that we don’t need, and that will not last.
Jesus comes onto the scene and says that He is the real deal; the whole truth and nothing but the truth. No more guessing games with Him. No more searching for what will only satisfy for a very short time.
He is the Way! The right set of directions and path to take. The Truth: everything real, honest and authentic. He is the Life: your breath, the reason for being alive.
There’s a lot out there offering false hope, fake happiness, and aimless living. Knowing Jesus personally brings you truth, purpose, and security. He is all that we need, if we need anything at all, we should get more of Him.
If life is so short, as a well-known slogan professes, driving an old car might not be that big of a deal, but living without knowing the Truth could be devastating!
