The Berry Tree Truth- Is it built for everyone, or not?

When the Berry Tree opened its doors just over a year ago, it was banking on bringing success to everyone, even those who could not market a program, sponsor affiliates, or do much work at all. The original plan was nothing less than superior to what most affiliate programs offer.

The Berry Tree has a patent pending system, so even if anyone else wanted to come up with a program similiar to what the Berry Tree offers, they could not.

Getting a patent for a program sounds like overkill...but then again you would had to have seen what the Berry Tree program offered.

They totally came up with the system for the passive affiliate...on paper.

How does the Berry Tree work?

The Berry Tree implements different forms of advertising into its program such as; The Home Business Connection magazine, and a pay-per-click (PPC) campaign, starting first with Google, and then with others, increasing each month.

In the Berry Tree Lounge, you will find various promotional videos, several advertising banners (16), and the dates and times for conference calls, all to help you effectively promote the Berry Tree program.

The Berry Tree added a Guaranteed Success Program, promoting triple your money back! How many programs will actually offer their affiliates money back, if they don't earn a certain amount of income?

What's the deal with the guaranteed income?

The Berry Tree promises to pay on every member in the program. Initially this plan sounded great, however, looking closely at the calculation for this, I came to the conclusion that the Berry Tree Bonus Pools would need a lot of help to enable passive members to earn a decent income. If we look at the calculation of AxB/C=D, we will see how the Bronze Bonus Pool amount is configured.

Where "A"= the number of full members in the Berry Tree.

Where "B"= the Bronze Bonus Pool share.

Where "C"= the number of full members qualified for the Bronze Pool.

Where "D"= the amount each full member qualified for the Bronze Pool will earn.

We can figure out the approximate amount for "D" because the Berry Tree gives us the values for "A", "B", and "C".

The Berry Tree decided to implement changes in its system because the Bronze Bonus Pool ("D") was not going to cover the monthly fee of $55.95 for passive members. These changes took effect in the month of June in 2008, and seemingly compromised parts of the Berry Tree that has initially made it so appealing.

What changes were made?

The Berry Tree would no longer guarantee spillover from its company marketing, it took away the fast track bonuses from members, and it changed the matrix to a 2x2, which put passive members in a spot where they basically needed to bring in two of their own members, and likewise help those two new members do the same. A 2x2 matrix is a very good plan because the system would essentially grow exponentially, however, it's easier said than done for each member to accomplish this task.

A surprising stat, was that the Berry Tree was recording a 50% growth rate every month, for a long time, but what we don't know is how many members were leaving the program at the same time, which would obviously effect passive members, and the Bonus Pools alike.

Unlike so many other programs online, the Berry Tree did not want to depend on the efforts of its new members alone, which was definitely a plus. The Berry Tree decided to take advantage by using its own company advertising, which is done by other successful marketers who had come from a well established company; Nutronix. Some members eventually received downlines thanks to the Berry Tree company advertising, and some did not, and the passive plan began to crumble.

Those who are new to home business, or internet marketing were promised to earn an income with the Berry Tree. It was not just designed for successful internet marketers, although, those who market the Berry Tree successfully, would have the potential to earn an incredible monthly income, and some are doing just that.

Where would that leave passive members of the Berry Tree?

The Berry Tree guarantees that its members will earn on every full member in the program, upon reaching 10 Berry Member Credits (BMC's). One Berry Member Credit is earned for paying into the Berry Tree for two full months. BMC's could also be earned twice as fast by becoming a member of Automatic Builder, and an executive in Nutronix. This was seemingly the best option, if it was affordable, as members would reach the Bronze Bonus Pool in twice the amount of time.

Not only that, but if one member was personally referred, that 1 would be added to the BMC total, and thus the excellent marketers would reach the Pool right away. The Berry Tree introduced a free trial, which is $4.95 for the first 30 days, and that means that those excellent marketers could be in profit before they were even paying the $55.95 monthly payment. This would prove to be a bit of a trouble maker, as too many members were reaching the Bronze Pool too quickly, before it was well stocked for all members.

A BMC was also awarded to all free trial members who upgraded to full members within their first seven days. It sounds like all of the earlier bonuses were actually taking away from those bonuses that everyone in the Berry Tree were supposed to benefit from down the road.

No one else was offering such a program like the Berry Tree, and perhaps it's because no one was willing to take the risk of building a program that would benefit even those who could not otherwise be successful. The program was not thoroughly tested in a live situation, and perhaps it's just not possible to make everyone successful?

The Berry Tree made some drastic changes because they knew that the system would not hold up for all members the way things were going. There are members who will definitely be successful, by working the program and building strong teams, the Berry Tree will be a big income earner for them.

But where will the passive members be?

As the passive part of the Berry Tree continues to crumble, they are still working on more changes to benefit everyone involved. Time will only tell if the Berry Tree will be able to hold up for the passive member. Some will stick it out and hope that the coming changes will bring lasting benefit, while others will bail out, not being willing to accept such a risk.

Those who are able to build strong teams, especially those who do it their first month, should be able to work from home with success. However, the Berry Tree will be a slow, or no income earner for the other members who are not able to build a team, or keep at least a couple people.
