As an internet entrepreneur, credibility is something that you will need if you expect to remain in this business a long time. Sure you might be able to get a few sales here, or a few sales there, but without credibility your business will not last. When others believe in your product or service, and they trust you enough to continue to be your customer, you will have achieved credibility. In order to be seen as trustworthy, there are several things that you will need to do, and incorporate into your business each and everyday. Get some education. If you want to be trusted by others, if you want to become a credible source, you will need to increase your knowledge in the areas you might otherwise know nothing about. Whatever area you are working in, do your research, and learn more about it until average people will see you as an expert in that area. You may not need to know everything about every niche you are working in, but you will need to increase your knowledge, which will be the first step to increasing your credibility. Be yourself. If you want people to trust you, you will need to be yourself. Use your real name, share some information about yourself and your experiences, and most importantly; be honest. Honesty is another very important part of building credibility, and it will take you a long way. People always appreciate honesty, just like they always loathe dishonesty. If someone finds out that you were dishonest in any way, it will get around and your credibility will be lost. Remember, if one person is satisfied with what you have to offer, that person may tell another person until you receive a steady flow of visitors based strictly on your good reputation. If one person is dissatisfied with what you have to offer, that person will generally let 3 to 5 others know, and your bad reputation will precede you. Appeal to real people. Get to know your customers or your clients as much as you are able. When marketing, write to them in a way that offers value, and shows them that you are a sincere, trustworthy person. Give them what they are looking for; information. Millions of people are constantly searching the net for information. Make sure that the information you give them is reliable and helpful, and your credibility will continue to increase. Build confidence. I'm not talking about your confidence, but the confidence that your customers will place in you. Consistently give them useful information, talk to them like real people who matter, establish a connection with them, and they will feel comfortable and confident with whatever service or products you provide. The first thing that you are marketing is yourself. If no one trusts you, no one will ever buy anything that you have to offer. That is why building credibility is such a necessary part of your online business, or even any offline business for that matter. The main difference between the two is that with an online business, people will have much less of an idea about who you are, where you came from, and what your ultimate goals happen to be. That is exactly why you need to market yourself ahead of your business. If you expect to win the business of real people, you need to know what you are talking about, you need to be yourself, you need to be honest, and you need to offer helpful information. When you consistently follow these principals, your credibility will consistently increase.
